Trolls & Gnomes (3D)

Time frame: 10 weeks.

Information: Our sixth project was a Real-Time Strategy based game.
It was supposed to have a topview gameplay featuring a world built on a hightfield.
Our goal was to make the game feel like an RTS game but it didn’t necessarily have to be one. The game was connected to the AI course and intelligent AI and pathfinding (navigation mesh) was two important things.

Description: Trolls and Gnomes is not you’re average RTS game. Rather then building a base and defending it with units we wanted something different. The basic concept instead is you playing the Hero Trolls against the evil Gnomes.
We drew inspiration from the hero feature in Warcraft III and decided to build in a “hero” role for our ingame characters, these heroes would have a specific role and a personlized spell attached to it.
The short timeframe made us sadly have to cut out some planned abilities, but the finished project gives a good sample of our final vision had we had more time.
